3 days, 11 locations, nearly 100 events
The EU Presidency will come to an end with a series of fun activities of a grand scale in Budapest. Hungarofest will organise a huge Danube Party on both banks between 24 and 26 June.
The must-see events will include the premiere of Fire Dance, a blend of Hungarian folklore and pop music, the Night of Museums, the Night of Churches and a free Art Nouveau Walk. The Connection Concert will feature Ke$ha, and Musical Budapest will present pop music, folk music, musical, jazz, operetta, film hits, along with cafeteria Gypsy, dance and ballroom music, bringing back Pre-war Budapest. Comic Budapest will present entertaining plays, and Traditional Budapest will offer handicraft activities, folk music and dance. A special feature will be Cultural Budapest with an open-air Reading Park and reading out, and Hospitable Budapest with events by cultural institutes. Comprised of projected images, Bright Budapest will be an amazing show, just like the parade of 1,500 of water vehicles and a race of Far East dragon boats on the Danube. Asia will be evoked again by rickshaws running among the venues. The Lágymányos Bay will be ideal for families. Little ones can go to playhouses, puppet theatres, Chocolate concerts, and big ones to instrument shows, dragon boat parades, exhibitions, sports stage, handicraft activities and concerts.
